Dharamshala to have 6.5 crore irrigation scheme

Dharamshala, September 15, 2017: To provide the better irrigation facility to the farmers and horticulturists of Dharamshala assembly constituency, a new 6,50 crore rupee scheme has been sanctioned. Stating this, the Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said that 7 new small water distributing channels shall be constructed, to benefit the 16 villages of the area.
The minister said, "The foundation stone of the scheme shall be laid down on 21 st of this month, and the work shall be completed in fixed time frame.”
He said that this is the biggest irrigation scheme of Dharamshala since independence.
The area is the Basmati rice bowl of the Kangra district.
