Dalai Lama expresses sympathy over flood damage in Sri Lanka

Dharamshala, May 31, 2017: In a letter to the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, His Holiness the Dalai Lama expressed sympathy for the loss of life and damage to property caused by severe flooding and mudslides in Sri Lanka in recent days.
“I offer my condolences”, he wrote, adding, “And prayers for all the families who have lost loved ones or have been affected by this devastating natural disaster. As a token of my sympathy and concern, I have asked the Dalai Lama Trust to make a donation to the relief and rescue work.”
