CT Public School organizes workshop on life skills for teachers
Jalandhar, July 11, 2019: Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in ensuring child-centered learning and holistic child development, a workshop on life skills for teachers was organized at CT Public School. The resource person for the workshop remained A.P. Singh, Principal, Rayat Bahra International School. The session focused on how life skills need to be practiced, imbibed and lived more than being just taught. The definition of life skills and their importance in our lives was discussed. The development of life skills to enhance the students’ thinking skills, social skills and emotional skills was highly emphasized during the workshop. The resource person guided the teachers to be the harbingers of change and exhorted them to integrate life-skills with other subjects. The session was made interesting by incorporating games to convey the concepts. In this way, the teachers were familiarized with the life skills through various activities. With a mix of audio-visual aids, role plays, reflections and discussions, it opened up minds to look at themselves in a different perspective and gear up for the change. The teachers too articulated their difficulties and were assisted by the resource person to cope up with the same. Daljeet Rana, Principal expressed gratitude to the resource person with his generous words of appreciation. He further, prompted all teaching fraternity to think beyond the syllabus in order to teach and make Life Skills, a regular classroom practice. Vice Principal, Sukhdeep Kaur also encouraged the staff to cascade their learning to create ripple effect in the lives of others.
