CM sanctions Rs.13.50 crore for development projects in Hussainiwala
Ferozepur/Chandigarh, March 26, 2015: To showcase the rich legacy of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev and other unsung heroes of the national freedom struggle, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved Rs. 13.50 crore for the execution of various development projects at Hussainiwala in district Ferozepur.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Badal gave his nod to the proposal sent by the district administration, Ferozepur in this regard by immediately releasing a sum of Rs. 2 crore for the light & sound programme to be organised at Hussainiwala and Rs. 1 crore to the executing agency entrusted with the task of preparation of documentary film & drama on the life and times of these great martyrs.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister took this decision in response to these issues raised by the delegation comprising local leaders and workers of BJP besides prominent residents of Ferozepur led by state unit President of BJP Kamal Sharma, which called on Badal on March 23, 2015 during his visit Hussainiwala on the martyrdom day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev.
Out of Rs. 13.50 crore sanctioned by the Chief Minister, Rs. 5.50 crore has been earmarked for the light & sound programme and renovation of the historic martyrs’ memorial, Rs.2 crore for auditorium, Rs. 1 crore for the construction of road having length of 4.22 KM from ‘Samadhis’ to village Gatti Rajoke and Rs. 5 crore for the construction of bridge over river Satluj near village Hajara Singh Wala. The Chief Minister directed the Secretary Mandi Board to undertake the construction of the road & bridge at the earliest. All these projects would be completed during the current fiscal i.e. 2015-16, added the spokesperson.
