Shimla, July 7, 2017: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while addressing a huge gathering at Udaipur in district Lahaul and Spiti today said that the State government was granting ‘Nautod’ to the landless and had relaxed the process for some time. He directed the Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul and Spiti to finish the process of distribution of Nautod within two months. “It should be taken as a mission and to be fulfilled as per directions”, said the Chief Minister, adding that no excuse would be tolerated.

He said that the sanctity of confluence of Chandra and Bhaga river at Tandi would be maintained at all cost and ‘Tandi Sangam Ghat’ would be constructed at confluence of both the rivers for which he announced a sum of Rs 50 lakh. He said ‘Udaipur Ghat’ would also be constructed at Udaipur on confluence of Myad Rivulet and Chandrabhaga river for last rites and rituals, for which he announced a sum of rupees five lakh.

Being perturbed over the claims of few outsiders on the ‘Tandi Ghat’,the confluence of Chandra and Bhaga rivers at Tandi, for immersion of ashes and performing rituals, he said that such an act would not be tolerated at all and any person involved in such a conspiracy should refrain from doing so. The ‘Ghat’ belongs to the people of Lahaul and Spiti and no outsiders can claim their rights over it. We want people to join together to fight against the wrong and appealed that they should not fall prey to the evil designs of opposition, he said.

He directed that primary schools at Koraki and Ratoli in Udaipur sub-division should not be closed.

Though many construction have come up in Udaipur, but they should be constructed in a planned manner, said the Chief Minister. Directing the administration, he said that the development process should be carried out speedily.

He said it is pathetic that whenever BJP comes to power, it tries to close the Institutes opened or wrap-up the development projects forgetting that the educational institutes or development projects were opened by the government not and not by Congress party. They should refrain from this.
