CM dedicates Zila Parishad Bhawan at Keylong

Shimla, July 8, 2017: After dedicating the newly Zilla Parishad Bhawan at Keylong constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.07 crore, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that the three tier Panchayati Raj system was the backbone of the democratic set up. So far, as per the recommendation of the NITI Ayog, the funds for development were being released to the Panchayats and not to Zilla Parishads and the Panchayat Samitis. Several times, we have raised the issue with the Union Government but I fail to understand the policy of the NITI Ayog, he said. The state government was funding the Zila Parishad and the Panchayats samitis from its own resources.

He also inspected the HRTC bus stand in the morning and assured for creating basic facilities like waiting room, staff quarters, etc. for the employees. The HRTC employees union thanked the Chief Minister for regularising around 993 employees.
