CICU Organises Final Match of 3rd CICU Corporate T20 Cricket League Tournament 2015-16

Ludhiana, April 4, 2016: The Final Match of 3rd CICU Corporate T20 Cricket League Tournament 2015-16 was played on Sunday. This tournament took a start December 13 last year with great excitement. The tournament matches were played on Sundays, at Cricket Ground, SCD Government College for Boys Ludhiana. Eight Participating Corporate Teams were divided into two Groups. Each team played three league matches.

The Final Match was played between teams of Kay Jay Forgings Pvt. Ltd. (in Blue) & Big Ben Exports(in White). It was won by Big Ben Exports Team by 1 run. Winner team scored 129 runs in 20 overs losing 8 wickets & loser team scored 128 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. It was a very tough fight between both the teams, which made the match very exciting till the last ball of the last over.

The final match was followed by the Prize Distribution Function, which was presided by Sh. Avtar Singh, President CICU.He congratulated to the winner and runner up teams and appreciated all participating teams of the tournament. He further saidthat now cricket has become India’s National Sport. Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings is proud to be hosting the 3rd Corporate T20 Cricket League Tournament. Playing cricket develops social skills, intellectual capacities & creativity and contributes a more disciplined attitude. Sports are integral part of Corporate Team Building and Motivation. The tournament winner’s cup & a certificate were awarded to the team of M/s Big Ben Exports. The runner’s up cup was awarded to the team of M/s Kay Jay Forgings Pvt. Ltd.

Besides this, trophies were given to the Best Batman Mr. Saparsh Kothari & Best Bowler Mr. Neeraj Kumar of team Kay Jay Forgings Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Gurbaksh Singh of team Big Ben Exports as Best All Rounder of the tournament, who played a key role in the final match by scoring 48 runs and taking 2 wickets, which helped the team Big Ben Exports to Win the Final Match.

The Tournament Officials Sh. R.D. Singh – Advisor, Sh. N K Gupta - Manager, J.S. Grewal & Sh. S.D. Singh – Umpires and Sh. Parminder Pal – Scorer were honored with the trophies for their outstanding work in conducting this tournament successfully.

Many cricket lovers including senior management persons and promoters of many companies like Sh. Vinod Thapar, President & Sh. Charanjit Singh, General Secretary knitwear club, Sh. Sham Lal Gupta, Partner S.S. Engineering Works, Sh. Pankaj Sharma, Director Osha Tools Pvt. Ltd. & Sh. S.B. Singh CEO Taaran Industries were enjoying the thrilling moments along with their relatives and friends thereby boosting the morale of playing teams, encouraging and cheering top players during the Matches. Sh. Vinod Thapar, Sh, Sham Lal Gupta and Sh. Pankaj Sharma were honored with a Mementos as Guest of Honor by CICU Mangement.
