CBSE North Zone II  Chess Tournament Clinched by Cambridge Students for the Third Successive Year

Jalandhar: Chess, a strategic board game is one of the world’s most popular games played by millions of people worldwide as a hobby as well as passion. The game requires a lot of concentration, deep calculations and the ability to foresee the opponent’s moves and actions. Students of Cambridge International School, Jalandhar, and Cambridge International School for Girls, Jalandhar exhibited their capability to calculate long sequences of moves and through a series of technical maneuvers and tactics managed to grab the various positions in CBSE North Zone II Chess Tournament held at DAV Sonipat, from October 6,2017 to October 8,2017.
In this tournament, students of Cambridge International School for Girls, Jalandhar ,Under- 19 (Girls) and Under -11 (Girls) clinched First position and Under-14 (Girls) got Second position. The same success story was charted by the students from Cambridge International School, Jalandhar, Under-17 (Girls) and Under-11 (Boys) grabbed First position, Under-11 (Girls) and Under-14 (Boys) clinched Second Position, Under- 19 (Boys) won Third Position and Under-14 (Girls) got Fourth Position. It is a matter of pride that our School has been the North Zone Champion for Three consecutive years.
On this occasion, Chairman LWES Mr. Ajay Bhatia, Vice Chairman LWES Mr. Nitin Kohli, President LWES Mr Deepak Bhatia, Senior Executive Director LWES Mr. J.K Kohli, CEO LWES Dr. Brijesh, Chief Education Officer LWES Ms. Deepa Dogra, Secretariat LWES Ms. Geeta Mahajan, Ms. Meenu Huria, Ms. SmitaVerma, Principal Kiranjoth Dhillon Sports Coordinator Learning Wings Mr. A.S Sikand, Deputy Sports Coordinator Learning Wings Ms. Harpreet Sagoo and Mr. Anurag Bhardwaj congratulated the winners for bringing glory to the school and their family and wished them good luck for their brilliant future.
