Jalandhar, February 13, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy Chief Controller of Explosive, Guwahati for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.35,000 from the complainant.
A case was registered U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Deputy Chief Controller of Explosive, Guwahati on a complaint for giving Explosive Licence. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from the Complainant.
Searches were conducted by the CBI in his office and residential premises.
The accused was produced today in the Designated Court at Guwahati and remanded to one day police custody.
