Jalandhar , August 10, 2012 – Unseeded Dhruv Kapila of Ludhiana caused an upset of 6th seed Vansh Murad Kalia of Jalandhar in straight sets 21-12,21-18 in Boy’s Singles Under – 19 of Carlton Punjab State Junior Badminton Championship in progress in Raizada Hans Raj Stadium, here today.
Dhruv Kapila 12 years displayed a very good sequence of strokes and never gave chance to his opponent to recover the lead.
Another upset in this group was Sumit Sharma of Gurdaspur seeded 7th lost to unseeded Manureet Singh of Amritsar by 10-21,21-13,17-21 and Ayush Mahajan of Amritsar made another upset 4th seed Puneetinder Singh of Ludhiana by 21-18,12-21,21-10 in an exciting match.
