Jalandhar, December 12, 2015: To keep the tradition alive and to welcome the Christmas season, CT Group of Institutions commemorated the pre-Christmas celebrations at its CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM), Shahpur Campus.
S.Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Mr.Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) with other members of the management also attended the function.
The students comprising B.Sc. HHA, B.Sc. HMCT & M.Sc. HMCT organised a cake mixing ceremony were in joyous mood to celebrate this festival of joy and merry.  At the event, the institute was decked up to reflect the authenticity and ethnicity of Christmas Season. The ceremony started with prayer by participation of all the members of the faculty, staff and students in mixing together all the ingredients that go into the making of the Christmas cake.
The students prepared pre-mixture for the Christmas cakes in which variety of dry fruits were mixed and soaked in wine, brandy & rum for fortnight. Then varieties of cakes with Christmas theme during this occasion are prepared especially the Christmas plum cakes in order to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. The event was organised as a ritual which has to be done before Christmas Eve in order to prepare flavored plum cakes. Dr. Rohit Sarin (Director, CTIHM) informed that making of Cakes are done mostly in the month of December. Cakes are very important in this festive season. Interested people will try to experiment different methods in making of cakes. CTIHM has stepped forward and already started preparations in making of special kind of cake which may weigh up to 100 Kgs. All students have joined hands in the preparation of cake.
Dr. Sarin motivated the students to boost their morale and keep shaping their talent in order to make them the real hotel professionals. 
Speaking on this ceremony Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions) appreciated the efforts and participation of students. He said, “Such events enhance the skills and increase the confidence among the students.”
