BJP state executive committee meeting which concluded at Ludhiana recently discussed several burning issues.
The meeting held serious discussions over the defeat of the party in the recently held Punjab assembly elections. It was strongly observed that the party workers are now on back foot after defeat of the ruling alliance in Punjab. These feelings were even felt by the party’s state political affairs in-charge Prabhat Jha.
While addressing the party men on the issue, Jha got emotional and asked the party workers to become since and honest for the party. He said every party worker should focus on further strengthening the party across the state. He admitted that the defeat in Punjab had put the BJP workers on back foot. He said it was the right time to give adequate time and attention for strengthening the organization at the grass root level in an honest manner. He asked the party men to go at the doorsteps of people for highlighting the achievements of the Modi government. He also asked the party men to go on the roads for the cause of people if the present Congress government is fulfilling aspirations of masses in Punjab.
In his address, the party’s national general secretary (Organisation) Ram Lal lauded the policies and programmes of the Modi-led government. He said the programmes such as “swachh bharat abhiyan” have become much popular among the masses. He added the prime minister Narendra Modi is working with one vision, one ideology and determination to make India a developed and prosperous nation. He said the Modi government is working for all sections of the society including poor, debt ridden and farmers.
BJP Punjab president Vijay Sampla strongly condemned the state government in Punjab as he said it was failing on every front. The law and order situation is deteriorating, power situation worsening and it is failing to redress the issues related to fee hike and farmers.
The party’s senior leader and former Punjab minister Manoranjan Kalia tabled political resolution, which was seconded by party senior leaders Madan Mohan Mittal and Ashwani Sharma.
