Chandigarh, May 16, 2017: The BJP has asked Capt Amarinder Singh-led Congress Government to shed its royal ways and fulfill promises made to people of Punjab in its election manifesto.
Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP, reminded Capt Amarinder Singh of the promises he and his party had made to the people of Punjab ahead of elections.

"Your government has done nothing for the farmers and nearly 40 farmers have committed suicide since you took over as Chief Minister," Chugh said adding that the Congress must realise that the honemoon period was over and people were expecting results.

He said while Capt government has itself admitted that it had inherited a state with surplus electricity, people of the state have started experiencing unannounced cuts affecting their lives, profession and businesses.

Chugh said it was high time that the Congress government did something to honour the tall promises and prove that it means business.

The BJP leader reminded Capt Amarinder that he and his party had told people that employment would be provided to at least one member in a family and all unemployed in the state would get Rs.2500 per month till they get a job.

He said Congress had promised to enhance Shagun to 51,000, waive of farm loans, to eliminate drugs from the state within four weeks, provide smart phones to the youth of Punjab and various other promises made.
