4-Day State Level Painters Camp begins at Mansar

MANSAR, APRIL 9, 2017: J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages today organized a four day State level Painting Camp here as part of its efforts to popularize the art of painting. A large number of people including artists were present at the inaugural function.
The Camp is attended by 11 artists from different parts of the country besides Jammu & Kashmir. The Camp was inaugurated by an eleven year old Mansar girl Maanvi Sharma.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Secretary JKAACL, Dr. Aziz Hajini described the Camp as an important cultural event and hoped it would not only give fillip to the visual art in the area but also promote the place outside the State.
He said the participating artists were like ambassadors who would go back with fine impressions about Mansar and its people. He hoped that artists will paint the beautiful landscape, culture and life of people here which will get wider exposure through their works.
The artists who are participating in the camp include Harsh Vardhan, Jang. S. Vernan, Akram Khan, Zargar Adil, Veer G. Veerinder Sumbli, Hilal Khan, Nadeem Mushtaq, Tsering Youdol, Amrit Kour, Shivali Jamwal, and Tariq Saify.
