“Meet expenses of water and electricity with allocated budget”; Government tells departments

Chandigarh, August 23:  The Punjab Government issued directions to all the departments to restrict the spending on power and water bills on the premises within the allocated budget limit as no further enhancement in the budget would be allowed to any office.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Finance Department said that all the departments have been asked to pursue austerity measures while spending money from their allocated budget for the year 2012-13.

Further, he said that departments have been instructed to meet their expenses of water and electricity with allocated budget and no additional budget would be provided for such things.
